I attended an event a few weekends ago and I got a cute little goody bag on my way out. I didn’t think much of it, till one day I needed some hand lotion and remembered that I had some new products to sample inside that bag. I remember seeing a tube of shea butter from Farmhouse Fresh that said, Whoppie Cream Shea Butter. It’s a pink tube, so it caught my attention right away. I get hundreds of products to try but this was something brand new and unique, so I wanted to give it a shot.

When I squeezed out the shea butter onto my hand, I could smell this fragrance that reminded me of cupcakes! I instantly started to smile! It smelled like fresh baked goods, yum! I have severely dry skin and companies that make shea butter don’t always work for me. Well, let me tell you, this is the truth! My skin stayed glistening all day and I smelled so yummy!!!! This product was also named, Redbook Magazine’s Most Valuable Product Award!

I quickly called the company and raved about how I found my new bff! They laughed at me over the phone and sent me out a few goodies to try from their Texas based company. I am so happy I opened that pink tube of goodness! If you are looking for a great shea butter and love the smell of sweet smelling whoopie pie, you gotta try this shea butter! Here is more info on it:

This Shea Butter whip is a jarful of joy! Lightly scented with scrumptious white velvet cream and moist layer cake, it is hard to resist as a start to each morning… or as a sweet farewell to each day. So deliciously scented it’s taste-tested as often as it’s used (we do not recommend this!) Inspired by the famous comfort desserts -Whoopie Pies. Farmers would find these handmade creamy cake-like delights in their lunchbox and shout “Whoopie!” We hope this every day cream becomes your every day delight, too… The supple butters and Vitamin E packed Jojoba and Soybean oils calm even the severest of dry skin. A giftably gorgeous 10 ounce glass jar and fun box makes a pretty keepsake.

90% natural, and like all FarmHouse Fresh Products, Whoopie! Cream is Paraben & Sulfate free. Retails for $30

Carols Daughter at Lenox Mall

I got word that Carol’s Daughter was opening in Lenox Mall and I had to stop in to see it! I love a women doing great things and I am so proud of Lisa Price for living out her dream! This is her 9th store and I had no clue that she had that many! I remember always stopping into Sephora to buy her products and now she has her own stores. I love it!

I was greeted by sales manager Antoinette who showed me around the store. She said they had something for everyone. The beautiful store was sectioned off for hands and feet, fragrance, skincare, men, bath and body and hair. They even do demos to show you how to use certain products. I loved that! Vivian, a customer getting demo on her hair said, she had mixed some wrong combinations of hair products,so she ran into Carol’s Daughter to let them show her how to use things.

Beauty products at Carols Daughter

I’ve seen lots of celebs vouch for Carol’s Daughter products like Jennifer Hudson,Jada Pinkett Smith and a host of others. Ive also seen products  featured in Essence, and O Magazine.

I also thought it was cool that on the employees name tags were their moms names. Antoinettes read,Juanita’s daughter, awh that adds such a unique touch. Antoinette mentioned that the “Hair Milk” was the top selling product and was named Best of Sephora’s 2008 “Best Natural Product”. Wow thats a great news! Please stop in and check them out if your in the Atlanta area, the store is so pretty and located on the first level across from Crate and Barrell at Lenox Mall.

she Sheree Fletcher founder/creator of Whoop Ash!

TalkingWithTami:    Hello Ms. Sheree can you please tell us about your product called Whoop Ash? Also, how did you come up with the catchy name?

Whoop Ash, a dry skin-relieving body butter made with tough love. Currently, there are few alternatives for people of color to combat dry skin.  Sure, there are products that can give you the quick fix.  However, dry skin typically can and will return throughout the day. What Whoop Ash brings to the market is a longer lasting, heavily concentrated daily moisturizer for the body.  With the introduction of Whoop Ash, we are offering a powerful body product created specifically with people of color in mind. It’s a tough solution to a tough problem.

The catchy name unfortunately, I can’t take credit for. I actually already named the product (not Whoop Ash) and wasn’t even thinking of changing it or re-naming it…I had crossed that bridge. One day, I was driving and “Whoop Ash” literally dropped into my spirit — it was God-given.

TalkingwithTami:    You are a very attractive woman. In the business world, do you find it hard to conduct business being beautiful? How do you deal with that?

First off, thank you! And, I can imagine that it can be hard to conduct business and not be taken seriously (the stereotype of beauty and no brains) and hidden agendas and motives (people doing things for you because they want “more” than business). As a married woman, I always put that out there immediately – my energy is not flirty, my cleavage is not in your face — I think I make it very clear that “it ain’t happening!” LOL! Men don’t even go there. So, my answer would be no.

TalkingwithTami:   You have a son Trey, who I can tell really supports you100 percent. How has family helped you along the way with your new career path?

Yes, my baby (Trey) is so supportive! He was my assistant for about an hour — when he refused to wake up at 8am during his summer vacation and go to Starbuck’s I had to let him go! He loves seeing his mother in business — he has been asking me for the last six years “when is Whoop Ash going to be out?” So, he was just as excited as I was when we launched.

My family in general has been incredibly supportive! They have been a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear. Many have also been key in helping me get to this point, offering their know how – or putting me in touch with those who could help. They keep me lifted up in prayer — especially my husband who is a praying, God-fearing man.

TalkingWithTami:  Where else do you plan on marketing your product or do you plan on just selling online?

whoop ash city product shot 231x300 Sheree Fletcher founder/creator of Whoop Ash!We plan to have Whoop Ash in retail outlets across the country — that is our objective. Our website is the starting point.

TalkingWithTami:   Come on tell us one guilty pleasure that you have?

Ooh, the Bravo “Housewives”…I don’t discriminate, they can come from Orange County, New Jersey, or Atlanta. I am trying to quit though icon wink Sheree Fletcher founder/creator of Whoop Ash!
