I was delighted when I looked in my inbox and had an invite to come out to OUTBACK Steakhouse to try their new Wood-Fire Grill menu! Its not every day that I go to a good steakhouse, my husband likes them more than I but I had never been there and was curious to try it. They have won numerous awards so I knew it was going to be a great treat.

The event took place at Outback Steakhouse off Lavista Road in Atlanta. I met some great foodies while there and learned that they had been in business for over 23 years. As I found my way to my seat, the aroma from the kitchen was smelling divine. We were first given a Margarita Trio of cocktails to sip on as we all introduced ourselves.

Dave Ellis then introduced him self as the Vice President of Research & Development and lead us on a guided tasting of steaks, chicken and seafood dishes. Oh my, they were all so good to taste! My favorites were the chicken, ribs and ribeye steak, so juicy, tender and flavorful! Their side dishes were awesome too and those garlic potatoes…so yummy! I have a bad sweet tooth and the cheesecake and carrot cake was delicious!

The steaks were lightly seasoned and grilled over a burning oak log. They also use 17 secret spices that is seared to seal in flavorful juices! I was very impressed with the presentation and plan on bringing the hubster back to try it out. I would like to thank Outback Steakhouse and MSLGROUP for the personal invite, I had a Pinkalicious time! We all parted with an Outback backpack filled with goodies and a $50 gift card, fab! xoxo

As I approached the swanky restaurant & lounge I could hear spanish music playing. Then I remembered Frank Ski is bi-lingual and speaks fluent Spanish. Champagne was being poured, signature bites from the chef were being served and lots of well dressed guests looked very happy to be in the lavish space.

The restaurant will serve classic American cuisine and will be open nightly for dinner and brunch on the weekends. I loved the decor of the space with plenty of areas for intimate settings or for bigger celebrations. They also have a patio area to enjoy the night air. Frank also showed me an enclosed room with an array of wines and cigars.

Great Persian Cuisine At Sufi’s

On Friday, June 24, I ventured out to a fabulous Persian restaurant in Atlanta called Sufi. My friend, Patricia Tinsley, said I would love it and that I did! I was greeted by a nice gentlemen by the name of Mohsen Roozi, who owns the establishment. He’s from Iran. I quickly asked him what did “Sufi” mean? He said, “Purity and wisdom” and explained that he came up with the name because of a popular restaurant back home in his country.

Roozi escorted us to our table and sat down for a chat. He has only been open for seven months, but the place had a nice crowd forming while we sat and talked. He wanted to open a place for people to relax and enjoy each other. The restaurant is also BYOB, and I thought that had a nice twist to it. As I looked around, I saw people pouring drinks and smiling as they dined.

Our waiter, Sorosh, came over and started us off with appetizers. We had Sufi’s Special, which consisted of hummus and mast kheyar (yogurt mixed with grated cucumber and herbs). He explained the menu and several popular dishes, and I immediately wanted the salmon kabob and baghala polo (dill and fava beans). Roozi also threw in other samples for us, like the chicken kabobs, and I was stuffed!

When the food came out, all I know is that I wanted to hug Patricia for referring me to this place! It was yummy, and all the foods had such flavor! After dinner, we had pomegranate cheesecake and tea — such a great added taste to the end of a nice meal. I do plan on coming back to this amazing lil’ place for something different with my friends. I would like to thank Mohsen Roozi at Sufi for the hospitality and Patricia Tinsley for setting up this dining experience.
