“Hi Tammie,

I was wondering if there is an organization or club that you belong to that keeps you abreast of upcoming events. I am trying to get out more and cover more red carpet events for the magazine.”

My response:

Hi Kim, well the funny thing is, I get invited to alot of things from pr companies, and publicists that I have met. I do not belong to any service that alerts me of events. Some of my suggestions would be to one, invest in some good business cards. Make sure you have really good ones too, not vistaprints, no offense to them but those don’t look very professional. Whatever events your going to now, mingle and hand out your business card to the right people.

Read or buy magazines to find out whats going on. Most magazines in your area will have a calendar of events. Sift through that and find things that interest you then reach out to whoever is giving that event and tell them you would love to come cover it.

Introduce yourself and make them remember you. Be the life of the party and have a great personality. It’s all in branding and how you carry yourself. Work that room girly and make yourself present. People will see that and want you at their next party or events.

The next thing is to let that person who invited you see what you did. If you have  a magazine, send them that tear sheet or write up as soon as possible. They love that and will be sure to invite you to the next event. I’ve been at this for 6 yrs now, so my database is full of media/pr friends. I hope I have helped yah!

Last night I have to tell yah! Whoo Weee! I had a ball. It was the Atlanta Housewives premier and Red Carpet!I got to hang with some true divas and if you didnt come correct, you should have stayed home! Ha! I got a chance to meet and talk with all of the cast from the Atlanta Housewives. And let me tell yah, they are all very nice and pleasant, like I figured. The one diva that really stood out to me was Sheree Whitfield. I really like her, but she is portrayed in the show like she will cut your head off. Naw, Im not buying it. We hit it off and she told me she wants me at her next shing ding! Cant wait to go! I met Deshawn Snow too guys and I love her as well. She was everything I thought she would be and more! I talked to Mr.Snow,Mr. Hartwell, and Nene’s hubby and they were all just kinda sittin back taking it all in. The husbands took pics and smiled as their wives shined all night! Kim Zolciak was cool as heck and could be anyones home girl! I looooved her cute lil outfit. She didnt mind striking a pose for me. I think she told me it was Dolce Gabana. I met Kim’s two cute lil daughters too, and her oldest daughter wore a Betsey Johnson dress with matching purple shoes. I spotted the Betsey Johnson attire right away and bee lined right over to her to tell her that I looved her outfit! Ha!

 Ms.Sheree’s dress was the bomb! It was designed by Valentino (dont kill me if Im wrong but it was extremely loud in there),When Sheree hit the red carpet, everyone gasped like,” Wow,Omg that dress is the business”!! It was to die for! And the red shoes were fierce too! Lisa Hartwell looked classy in her black evening gown and her hair was fabulous,her makeup was all sparkly, she looked like a barbie doll! I love Lisa, she reminds me of a playmate I had as a youngster, just cute and you always wanted them around. My girl NeNe Leakes looked great too, she wore a purple dress that was fitted. She has a great body,you go girl! She told me she was the first one to be cast.With her bold and bubbly personality, I know they are glad they made that decision, she brings it on screen!

We watched the premiere and was served champagne and laughed at some of the show, then we partied some more. I had a great time and made some good connects. I cant wait to talk to the girls one on one about their non profits, and other business ventures they have. I love women entreprenuers,do your thing! Well I’m going to retire my pumps for now, till the next big thing! I will have more pics later on, waiting for my photographer to download and send. Take care, im going back to bed! Ha!
