TalkingWithTami: Hello DeShawn, you always look so pretty when I see you out, just wanted to let you know that your one classy lady! All praises to you! How have you been doing since you ended the show with The Atlanta Housewives?
I’ve been doing fabulous! I have several things going on:
Personally:
I am in my second semester in graduate school
I am writing my autobiography
I am also writing a book series targeting girls ages 8-11 years old (I am also shopping a treatment to have it turned into an animated series)
I’ve just recently got licensed as a minister at NewBirth
DSF:
I’m planning our 2nd Annual Night of 1000 Stars (July 16th at the Georgia Aquarium) proceeds will also benefit Ivy Prepartory School and Girls Inc.
I’m planning our 4th Annual Empowerment Camp (July 20-26th)
We are getting ready to launch 3 additional Angels Programs in 3 different schools after spring break.
TalkingWithTami: When I saw you at Barnes and Noble, you were promoting Bedtime Stories and you had some of your girls from your Non Profit Organization there. How did you and Disney combine Forces?
Walt Disney Studios is a client of Allied Advertising. Allied contacted me to see if DSF would like to partner with them. I was thoroughly delighted and of course wanted to go forward…
TalkingWithTami:Girls must be dear to your heart,even though you have three adorable boys. Why did you choose to focus on girls for your Deshawn Snow Foundation?
My passion is young girls. I went through a lot of things growing up and I know that my life would be different had it not been for the grace of God. I think it is my responsibility to let these girls know that they can have anything in life that they want regardless of what labels they are given, what mistakes they have made, and what environments they are in. Also, in helping them, I am helping myself!
TalkingWithTami: Tell us about you going back to school? How is that when you have a lovely hubby& kids?
I’m attending Regent University online. I am in their Master of Divinity program. It is 60 hours online and 30 hours on campus (I have to spend one week a semester on campus). Online learning definitely requires self discipline and time management. I am managing to get it all done!
Typically I work on my school work while the boys are at school.
TalkingWithTami:I want to come over and play dress up in your closet lol. Whats one thing in there that you would never give up and why lol?
LOL you can come over anytime! I got every size in there from 4-12! There is nothing in there that I am attached to actually…. Maybe my black louis vutton signature bag… I bought that for myself with my hard earned money (smile)
