Cancer is a horrible disease that no one likes to hear about. I have two close friends who are battling breast cancer right now. For that reason, I knew that I had to go out to support the 4th annual “Celebration 4 A Cure: Where Music Meets Fashion For A Cause” event last night in Atlanta. The affair was orchestrated by Polow Da Don in conjunction with Zone 4 Inc. When I arrived, I gawked at the parking lot and the Mason Murer gallery of attendees. Others, obviously, had the same idea, too!

Cameras were flashing at the Grey Goose stations, which had rows of people in line, and the OMG Booth was filled with smiling faces taking pictures.  Vendors onsite had booths that were extremely busy, and the VIP section of seats started to fill up fast for the entertainment, award presentations and fashion show. It was hosted by socialite and blogger Bevy Smith.

The show started off with a big welcome from director Clay West, whose mom passed away from cancer, then there was a video presentation with celeb cameos about the cause and why they support it. The Bailey sisters, young effervescent entertainers, then came to the stage and belted out two songs, including Nina Simone’s, “Feeling Good.”

Next up, pint-sized divas strutted their stuff in Linda Gail’s creations. It was pinktasticly wonderful! Those little divas could walk the catwalk!  Their outfits were incredible, with tutus in bright, whimsical colors and sparkly shoes.

Other designers that showed their collections were Man vs. Machine, Tian Justman, J. Loren, Samantha Black, Bravo’s Reco Chapple, Mataano, Sachika and Kevan Hall. Awards were given out to Shanti Das, Cynthia Bailey, Devyne Stephens and designer Tian Justman, a three-time cancer survivor as part of the evening’s activities.

The night also included a very moving dance performance by praise dancers and, then, Mary Mary hit the stage and shut it down! I’m not a huge gospel fan, but they did a very good job, and everyone loved them. More fashion followed, as other designers showcased their pieces on the runway. Some of my favorites were from Man vs. Machine, with their mixtures of punk and fab separates, Kevan Hall gowns and Linda Gail’s pretty, preppy styles for kids. Zone 4′s 3rd Annual Cancer For A Cause event was held last night and let’s just say I thought the fire marshalls was going to be called out! It was held at the Mason Murer Art Gallery. It was packed and lots of people came out to support Polow the Don’s cause.It was an award show, fashion show and music showcase all in the name of fighting cancer. I tried to keep my eyes open with tooth picks to see if Polow was actually going to be in attendance but I didn’t see him and a Diva was tired after midnight lol.

When I left the party,it was still going on. You guys can have it, momma needed a bed and a blankey lol. Keri Hilson was the host for the evening and she looked amazing as usual. She said she lost her auntie to cancer, so this was a very special event to her.I didn’t get a chance to chat with her because they ate her up as soon as she hit the carpet lol. I did get a chance to meet singer Michelle from Destiny’s Child. I giggled for a moment because she has a very high pitched voice like me. She was fun and then I saw my boo actor Lance Gross.

I asked Lance did he see my blog post about him not having any clothes on, on Necole’s Bitchie’s site, he laughed. Then I tried real hard while interviewing him to get him to show me his abs but he was not having it… darn it! I also saw singer Lloyd in the house,models Cynthia Bailey in a pink sparkly dress Bree and Bianca Golden from Americas Next Top Model and everybody else and they cousin pookie was in the house.The fashion show, music and people were very interesting lol. The other day I heard it was a media frenzy in downtown Atlanta… yikes! Keri Hilson turned it out as she celebrated the release of her new album. Congrats to her! 

Keri Hilson was celebrating in an Alice In Wonderland  kinda style! How cute is that and I heard it was the party to be at. Lot of industry people came out,like Polow The Don,Jazzy Pha,T.I. you k now the usual Atlanta flavor lol. I wish her luck with her new album and record sells! Go head girlie you looked fab!

I’m not a huge sports fan can you tell? I hardly post on games,etc, not my style. I did make an exception and go to the  Eighty81 red carpet event. It was hosted by my friend Polow The Don,while Lebron James was in town over the weekend. A night with Lebron James was held at a great place called MF Buckhead. I loved the decor in the place very swanky! Lebron was in town to play the Atlanta Hawks on sunday, and dog on it, the Cavs beat us by 1 pt! If you have been following my blog for awhile you now your girl is originally from Cleveland,Ohio! Born and raised, so I had to go support my Lebron.

We get there and the media was outside, I started to turn around and go home because it was drizzling and cold and I was not in the mood to stand outdoors. We got there early, so we could get a good spot, but I then proceeded to go inside the doors and watch all the commotion from a far because it was chilly willy. The crowd started to gather and the line was wrapped around the building. Everyone wanted to party and take a peak of the popular b-baller. Models,industry people,celebs was all out in full effect lol. I left at 12 midnight and didnt see any of the celebs on the red carpet. I started to get texts later, that they started to arrive but I was in dream land by then(not a nite person at all!)

I did get to see Lebron in person,he’s a tall fella,and he had his long time girlfriend Savannah with him, she was a cutie. I was lovin your lil purse girl too cute! He did manage to stick his head out the door for the paps to take a couple of shots. As he made his way back in the door we bumped into each other, I said,”hey you goin out”? He said, “Nawl its too cold”! I agreed lol. Thanks to Nicole Garner and staff over at www.thegarnercircle.com for allowing us media access.
