TalkingWithTami: Bokeem can you take us back to that day when you decided you wanted to be
an actor?
Acting was not my primary career goal, but I humbly accepted the challenge the day that Forest Whittaker cast me as a lead role in the movie Strapped over hundreds of actors in an open call.
TalkingWithTami: Can you please tell us what was your first starring role?
The role of Diquan in STRAPPED.
TalkingWithTami: In most of your characters roles that Ive seen you in, your mostly angry lol. How do you prepare for those type of roles?
I try to put myself in the shoes of whatever character I’m portraying in the moment as honestly as I can.
TalkingWithTami: Congrats on your new show Saving Grace! Tell us about your character on that show?
I play Leon Cooley. He’s a decent man in a desperate situation,caught between the light of hope and the shadow of despair. He struggles with the temptation to fall into a stagnate malaise of self pity, but his guardian angel and his own will give him strength.
TalkingWithTami: What kinda role would you like to play that you havent done yet?
I have my eye on the action genre.
