What a wonderful day I had at the State Capital! I was invited out by Ina who owns The Starfire Group to be one of the lucky 75 women to attend the 2011 Women Entrepreneurs Day in Georgia! I felt very honored to be recognized for my efforts and supporting women in business! I heart women who step out on faith and live out their dreams.

Nationally, 250,000 out of 8 million businesses owned by women generate 1 million or more in annual revenue. Georgia is a top state for women entrepreneurs with more than 30 percent of businesses owned by women.

I attended this amazing event with my friend Tish Deshields that owns Original Bellyworks. We were both delighted and had a lot of fun meeting other women in business. I also saw some ladies that I’ve featured on my site or attended their events. We had breakfast, listened to key speakers, and gathered on the State Capital steps to hear a press conference from Representative Paulette Braddock as she gave a heart felt speech about women in business and her own journey. Then we had lunch and the resolution ceremony. It was so inspiring to see all of the ladies and I want more women to launch! I would like to thank Ina Saulsberry for the personal invite and Felicia Joy and also Chloe from Vitamin C for making my Pinktastic dress for the occasion! Enjoy the pics! xoxo

I am doing a back flip and a tuck right now!! I just got word that I, along with 74 other women in business in Georgia will be headed to the State Capital! Ms.Ceo along with The Starfire Group invited me out to join Senator Nan Orrock and state elected officials to be recognized for my business contributions with our state and national economies!

On the agenda for the day, I will have breakfast, hear a press conference, be apart of a resolution ceremony in Senates chambers, have lunch and also see a presentation featuring, Tierra Destiny Reid, then some networking.

Ok where shall I began? Should it be with the fire dude outside doing explosive spins with real fire?  Or shall I start with the random Mariachi Band in full costume performing?Or the caricature artist who drew me to a T? Maybe let’s talk about the live jazz band that had your toes tapping. I don’t know where to began guys but see thats what kinda party you get when you book with Ina Saulsberry! It’s always off the chain and explosive!

I was asked to Co-Host a fab 3 year anniversary party for The StarfireGroup and I was so honored. FridayGirl Tv, and Ms.Ceo and me were all styled up in our all white, which Ina requested to host her event. I never wear all white but thats my girl, so anything for her! As I approached the Zucot Gallery located in the Castleberry Hill district of Atlanta, I saw the red carpet,cameras popping off and tons of people trying to get in. Pia and I knew this was going to be a blast!

We hurried up to get in and mixed and mingled with the guest. I was then asked to greet everyone and make them feel at home. They also had door prizes and my pretty in pink new friend helped me pick a winner of a $200 gift card to Tous. The winner was my friend Tara Holland lol! Ina thanked everyone for coming and was presented with a pretty painting.After mingling, I got a caricature drawn by an artist and she was too cute! Princess Cut was playing some fab songs and the waitresses brought out fab bites to munch on. Purple drinks were poured provided by Three O! We had a ball and I want to thank Ina for allowing me to come and enjoy her celebration.

Over the weekend I celebrated my birthday by having a Pajama Jam networking event that was such a hit! First I would like to thank God for allowing me to see another year…woot! Skirt Magazine invited me out to their Ms.Biz event and I had a great time! Felicia Joy hosted this networking event because she is all about women and teaching them about entreprenuership with her magazine Ms.CEO and on her radio show( www.msceoshow.com).   

So funny because she was recently at a taping of my Girls Nite In. I love to see women come up with great ideas and network too. I saw my buddy Stephanie Davis(editor in chief and her marketing guru Jennifer! I also met a very chipper new friend by the name of Dickie Sykes who has a company called DGS Consultant,LLC(www.dgsconsultingllc.com) she has an audio cd called,Yes you can still find a job! In these times of economical struggles we can all use some great advice, if you know what I mean. Also I met Marea Michelle, who has a new book out called, The P.H.D.(The Professional Hustlette’s Degree) www.thephdbook.com. She just gave me a copy so I will have to read it and let you know how it was.

The event was very nice and lots of womenprenuers came out to the lovely Ellis hotel which is in downtown Atlanta. I got a chance to speak with the hotel’s publicist Autumn Mayfield, who informed me that in the Ellis hotel they have a floor dedicated to women how cool is that! I think you get a complimentary pair of Spanx in every room! I love Sara Blakely what a great inventor! Skirt magazine was also taking up a donations for The Atlanta Womens Foundation which benefits their organization. The event was very lovely and the hors d’oeuvres and Skirtinis was just right. Thanks Skirt for inviting me out!
