Today Lisa Price, owner of Carol’s Daughter along with Mary J Blige,and Steve Stoute gave a private affair to benefit the FFawn non profit organization (www.ffawn.org).  Mary J. Blige was not in attendance but sent a message that she loves the organization and Lisa’s products. She also said, she is a perfect example of someone who was able to overcome alot of diversity, to become who she is today. This intimate affair was held at Carol’s Daughter newest store at Lenox Mall in Atlanta,Ga.

I knew it was going to be crowded at this event,because I saw people chatting about it all day on twitter and facebook.My inbox was full with inquires to see if I would be in attendance. Anything that was purchased in the store, 20% went back to the orgazination.I did hear the register chiming all nite lol.

The mission of FFawn is to, inspire women from all walks of life to gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their individual potential. With your support the “The Mary J. Blige Center for Women will be located in Yonkers, Ny Mary’s hometown. It will serve as  a one stop shop for ladies to get different services. Which include Education,Parenting skills, and career training. That is fab what they are doing for our young ladies,congrats to them!

I got a chance to meet a Pinktabulous woman in business, which was Lisa Price! I’ve been following her career for awhile now and she said,”Tami its been 14yrs”! She was very pleasant and told me it was alot of work starting out, but well worth it. Lisa told me she was from Brooklyn Ny. I asked her what was her fav product and she said, she loves the Hair Milk because it doesnt leave your hair sticky and that its her best selling item. I asked her how she liked our  humid weather here in Atlanta and she said it was very hot, lol.

Celebs that came out to support this event was Boris Kodjoe, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harvey, Derek Blanks,Michael Knight,Monique, NFL, players and NBA players and everybody that was shopping in the mall lol. It was a packed affair. I also got a chance to congratulate Steve Harvey on his new book,”Act like a lady,Think like a Man“.

He looked very serious when I approached him with my mic. I introduced myself to him and then said,” hey Steve I’m from Cleveland”. I use to do your ex wife nails(the mother of his two twins) lol, he looked a lil uncomfortable but smiled and let me proceed with my interview. He also told me he was a resident of Atlanta, I was like wow,Ive never seen him around town but I have seen his new wife out. I loved her platinum ring and quickly zoomed in to get a pic of that puppy. I also liked how they complimented each other with their coordinating outfits,they looked very stylish man. I do believe his book is doing extremely well too! If Im not mistaken, I think I overheard someone saying a movie is in the works of his Bestselling book, wow, you go Steve! We will have to stay tuned to find out more!

Comedian,actress, business diva, Monique looked fab! While she was getting a massage, I tried to make her remember that I interviewed her last year. I told her I was trying to get on her show F.A.T.Chance and she told me, I needed to eat some more lol. She laughed and we chatted about what she was up to. She said, she has a new talk show coming out that will air on B.E.T. titled, “The Monique Show”. Tonite Monique was casual, with a nice healthy looking hairdo,a pair of blue jean capris and nice top with gucci heels, she was very funny and real, you can tell she was very relaxed, I like her,go girl! She said the tapings will be done at Turner Broadcasting studios and that the show starts taping Sept 1st. I’m going to try to make it to atleast one of those tapings! Good luck with your new show Monique! You can tell she likes people alot like me because she posed for pics and chatted with everyone,making it nice to be around her.

So I had a blast as usual and cant wait for the next big event. The cocktails,music,bites and atmosphere was Pinktastic! I was a lil heart broken though that I didnt get to meet Mary J. Oh boy, oh boy! I got to go to the cutest grand opening ever over the weekend! It was a pink carpet affair and you know your girl was in heaven! Alot of people are now associating me with the whole pinky thing so every time there is a pink carpet im the first person they think of to come out and cover it!

My daughter and I were too tickled pink to go to Cami Cakes grand opening located in Buckhead! As we arrived the pink carpet was rolled out,jazz band playing and plenty of people wearing my fav color pink! There was champagne,oodles of goodies and cupcakes! Cami Cakes is owned by Andra Hall and she has three locations, 1 in Atlanta, and 2 in Florida. The momprenuer, told me that she didnt want to go back to corporate america and plus she had a daughter she wanted to spend more time with. Awh, I love to hear when people put their family first! I did the same thing! Kudos to her! The bakery is named after her daughter Camille, who was too cute with her pink dress on!

I loved the decor of Cami Cakes with its chocolate walls and pink accents, it was so cute and daintyI  loved it so Pinktastic! Some of the flavors of cupcakes they have are Classic Cami,Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream(yummy)Strawberry n Cream,Banana Cream,Red Velvet and a million more! I tried the Pineapple toasted Cocunut cupcake and almost lost my mind! If I didnt stay so far away from the bakery,I would do a drive everyday in diguise to order a dozen of them lol! They were that good omg! Please stop by if your in the area and atleast try just one! Apple’s Eye Designs was birth through my Mom, Beverly Jones, many years ago. It started when she made me a dress when I was a little girl. She made all of me and my brothers clothes growing up. All of our back to school clothes came from Bev’s sewing nook! Throughout the years, she has sewn for many people, from weddings to bedding. In the late 80’s, she started to focus on children’s clothing. She was in several boutiques across the country. In the 90’s, she got burned out and eventually stopped sewing all together. In 2005, I picked it up and decided it was time to do something with the thousands of dollars in inventory and outfits that she had invested in over the years. So I started selling her designs online and that sparked her dream in her and she started to sew again.

      
TalkingWithTami: When u started making clothing for young girls tell us why this was important to u?

    My Mom, the designer of Apple’s Eye clothing had 2 boys and it was always hard for her to find unique things for them. So her original goal was to give boys a fresh verity of styles to wear. The whole vision is to dress all kids with top quality unique designs.

    
TalkingWithTami: You also have a makeup line as well. Tell us about Kissegirl?

Kisse Girl is my baby. It all started when I was working on a line of jeans to add to the Apple’s Eye line. The jeans would come with a lip balm attached to the belt loop. I started to research where to get the lip balms and discovered that I could make it myself. From that research, Kisse Girl was born. The mission is to boost the confidence of girls through our products. When you smell good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you look good, that’s what being a Kisse Girl is all about. It’s not just about our lip gloss, it’s about the whole well being of the girls that use it from the inside out.

  
TalkingWithTami: As a professional business lady did u face any challenges? If so how did u shake them off?

Oh Lord yes. Challenges are a major part of doing business. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it, right? I deal with problems by being prayerful and resourceful. I’ll reach out to others form help and if I can’t find it, I’ll figure out a way to get it done. I’ve learned to accomplish any goal, I can’t take no for an answer. I have to keep going until I get to the yes! Perseverance is the key. Eventually the yes will come. My husband, Anthony plays a major role in keeping me encouraged and focused, especially when it gets hard. I wouldn’t be able to do this without his support.

TalkingWithTami: Think back when u were in grade school. What were your dreams and aspirations back then?

When I was in grade school, I wanted to be everything-from a teacher to a pilot. When I got to High School, I thought about being a model, but I never pursued it. I always knew I would do something great and at this moment, I’m still working my dream to make a difference in the lives of many. I would like to thank you Tami for being a inspiration to me through your blog and your show. You are a true gift from God and you will continue to shine because your mission has an awesome purpose and it will be fulfilled.
