Last week I was one of the guest speakers invited out to the Atlanta Mission. It’s a shelter for women and children and this was my 2nd time going there. As you guys may know I was homeless back in the mid 80′s for 2 years and so now I always give back and share my story with the ladies and encourage them. My friend Lori was there to talk with the ladies as well about her business(Mocha Moon) and her non profit organization Beauty and Books. She gives the ladies beauty items and more to help with their self esteem and to feel beautiful. She provided the ladies with swag bags of beauty and hair care items.
Guest Speakers were:
Megha Rodriguez-Hire Humanity
Emma Loggins- Fanbolt
Patti Davis-Anatomy Of A Dinner Party
Me
At the speaking engagement we shared with the ladies about social media. Lots of them didn’t know what a blog was or that they could start one for free. With minimal internet and computer access being in the shelter, we were aware that they couldn’t be on computers all the time. We did let them know though that maybe at a later time they could start a site and how they could earn income from it. Three of us guest speakers talked about social media and Patti from (Anatomy of a Dinner Party) talk about etiquette. It was a great morning and I’m so glad Atlanta Mission and Lori Reynolds invited me out. xoxo
