Ambassador Andrew Young celebrated his 80th birthday in grand style at the Centennial Ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Atlanta. Lots of Socialites,Politicians,Dignitaries,Kings & Queens,Celebrities and more came out to party with him. The event was hosted by comedian Jonathan Slocumb and actress Jasmine Guy. Everyone looked lovely at the Mardi-Gras themed celebration! Plates ranged from $250-$150,000, that benefited his foundation. I had a blast and it was so nice to see everyone! I was a bit sad though that after being there for hours on end me and my photographer Robin Lori decided to pack up and leave like so many other media outlets. As soon as we did, I got a text that Oprah came! OMG! I wanted to meet her so bad. She was one of the honorees at the event lol. Better luck next time lol! I almost had a hissy fit when I saw these pictures on facebook this morning. It was pics from a Seersucker Social. People were dressed in their fanciest seersucker and pedaled around Atlanta, then finished with picnic at Oakland Cemetery. Funny thing, I was invited out to this but I get soo many flyers and invites in my inbox, it’s hard to shuffle through them all lol. I sure hate that I missed this event because this was surely something I would have loved to attend!

I have a pink bike and would have loved to wear a pinktastic seersucker outfit on such a warm beautiful afternoon with friends. How fun does these pictures look! I’m going to pay closer attention to my inbox from now on because I am so mad that I missed this day of fun and relaxation. Kyle was so nice to let me use a few images to give you guys an idea on how it was. Isn’t this just lovely and oh so me! Oh my gosh how fun and I see they stopped by the King of Pops. I also see my friend and councilman, Kwanza Hall was biking along too, how cool! From my understanding they will be doing it again for a Fall ride and early winter one. Friday night I was invited out to the “Magnum Livin Large Project“. When I got the invite I was thinking how will they do this event about condoms? Well, when Pia and I arrived, I must say the event was pinktastic in a goldish kinda way lol.

When we arrived on the rooftop of the Ventanas, you saw gold drapery flowing, music playing, drinks pouring and bites served. Models were wearing the cutest gold sequined dresses, celebs were arriving on the gold carpet and the atmosphere was cheerful.

It was a private gold carpet awards ceremony and soiree hosted by Ludacris.The masters of ceremony was Hill Harper and he did a fab job. The event was to crown the achievements of the entire Magnum Live Large Project national campaign.The recipient of the 5,000 check went to Greater than Aids campaign part of Kaiser Permanente Hospital Foundation.

Luda was joking on stage when receiving his award, saying that he was happy to receive it because he was a great “supporter” of the Magnum condoms lol. I also had the pleasure of riding on the elevator with Ludacris and his girlfriend Eudoxie and I was telling her I took french for 6years and can’t remember a thing lol. She speaks fluent french and she was going over some words with me, I laughed but understood some things she was saying. I also asked Ludacris when was he going to shoot his next video. He said he shoots them all the time and does some of them here in Atlanta. I told him to consider putting me in one and he said, “no doubt!” Ok Luda, I’m going to hold yah to it! lol.

Chef Jason Ellis

Yesterday evening I was invited out to Chef Jason Ellis viewing party for him being on the 7th season of Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve watched that show for two seconds and quickly turn the channel everytime Chef Gordon Ramsey starts going in on some poor chef. Chef Jason is better than me because I would have a couple of choice words for Mr.Ramsey and storm off the set in my stilettos lol.

The event was held at Straits restaurant upstairs and let’s just say that it was almost a fire hazard! Chef Jason must be truly loved because everyone in a 3mile radius came out to show their support for him. The colors were purple and asian inspired, so Straits was perfect for the occasion. He had his family in tow and I met his wife and kids. Chef Jason is a big guy but oh so shy,too cute!

We munched on eggrolls,chicken lollipops and strawberry cake by Divine Desserts.I also found out that Jason and I share the same agent from Real People Talent Agency, Ms. Margot Shaw. It was so nice to see her, Chef Jason told me, “yeah we’re family now” lol.

Councilman Kwanza Hall

I was invited out to a Kwanzaa celebration with councilman Kwanza Hall. I’ve never really celebrated Kwanzaa or knew too much about this holiday. Going to the event last night, taught me alot. The event was held at the beautiful Paris on Ponce and this place was filled with alot of artifacts and fun stuff.I had a smile on my face as soon as I entered the building! It reminded me of being on the set of Moulin Rouge! I loved the atmosphere and the place was a great location for Kwanza’s event!

I got a chance to chat with Kwanza and ask him what made him pick this location and he said that Paris on Ponce was in his district and it just felt right. I agree that it was a great spot! The food was awesome and we got to sample different foods from all cultures, great idea. This event was about diversity and bringing people together,he did a great job! The room was filled with all ethnic backgrounds.

There was plenty of entertainment as well! Jovita Moore was the host for the evening and she introduced alot of different acts. I got to see dancers from HBO Crew,singer Heston, singer Cymia,the Nicolas House choir,singer Joy, Relapse comedy theatre,and so many more. Guess what you guys, I got a chance to learn african dance with Giwayen Mata! I was asked to come on stage and learn a couple of african dance moves! It was a very entertaining night and I would like to thank councilman Kwanza Hall for inviting me out! Please enjoy the pics and Happy Kwanza!
