To launch Uptown Magazine’s June issue, they threw a posh Editor’s Cocktail Soiree held at the Residences at W Atlanta-Downtown. The event was hosted by my bookie Executive Editor, Isoul Harris & Atlanta Editor Ronda Racha Penrice. It was a warm,breezy evening overlooking the city of Atlanta. Many attendees noshed on bites prepared by Chef Jaajon Barnes from  Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint and we were served soothing cocktails from Pisco Porton. With all the humidity yesterday those drinks came in handy! Guests also thumbed through the latest issue of the magazine featuring the gorgeous Paula Patton on the cover. Over the weekend I got to hang out with my buddy Isoul Harris who’s the managing editor over at 944 magazine(Atlanta). I always pick his brain and ask for advice about this whole magazine thing. Many years ago he use to be the Editor at Rolling Out where I’m at now as the Lifestyle Editor. He gave me some great insight and I really appreciate all that he does for me.

I was checking out 944′s January Vanguard issue. It seems like they’re taking a new direction this year by having great artistic pictures instead of the usual high fashion models or celebs on the cover. Visiting their site today, I loved the photos inside that were shot by Luke Duval, very hot! Enjoy the pics and happy Wednesday!

So last night I headed back to The Next Cool Thing to see all the exhibitors work their magic with great interior design! It was a great turnout and all the designers did a great job bringing to life movies and television shows from the past and present. There were people dressed up in costumes, live entertainment,crap tables, red carpet photos,tasty bites, drink bars and more! My friend Isoul and I walked through the 10,000 square foot place trying to remember all the movies and tv shows on display.

Former Mayor Bill Campbell, Frank Ski, Frank Ski’s son, Chris Tucker

There was word on the street that radio personality Frank Ski was giving his annual wine tasting party. Word quickly spread via email,facebook,texts and twitter. You just had to be in the building to rub elbows with the most influential people, socialites, political figures and celebs in Atlanta! Did you get your invite, was the question of the day. I surely got mine and was there front and center!

As I drove down a quiet residential area of Atlanta, I turned the corner and mayhem was taking place as party goers tried to make their way through the two lane road full of cars. When Frank Ski throws a party, he usually brings out the biggest crowds. His 7th annual wine tasting was for a great cause too! It was to benefit his non profit organization, Frank Ski Kids.

In the rented mansion for the party, there was Greygoose pouring,towers of Cami Cakes, catered food from Carrabba’s restaurant,artists,live entertainment and a silent auction taking place. Did I mention that there was also a horse on the premises? Yes there was a show horse for auction starting at $9,000.

In the party I spotted Mayor Kasim Reed, former Mayor Bill Campbell, Tv personality Free, Comedian Chris Tucker, Ne-Yo and his fiance Monyetta, Devyne Stephens and more. I sat at a table with Free and asked her what she was up to. She said she is trying to get back out there and that she has been producing a couple of tv shows.

Frank Ski’s wife Tanya was the best dressed in the building to me. She wore a black half shouldered dress with YSL slip ins. She said, Tami get the shoes, I know you’re a shoe girl. She always looks so pretty at their events.

Ne-Yo’s fiance wore all black and told me that everything she was wearing was from her boutique that just opened. She told me that the grand opening will be soon. She was suppose to have it earlier but their baby girl came first. What a surprise!

The party was great but I wasn’t feeling like my usual party girl self, so I made my exit quickly because It was getting extremely crowded and my head was spinning. I know that their foundation made lots of money for the kids with all those people there lol. I want to thank PinupGirlClothing for my dress, Frank & Tanya Ski and his staff for the personal invite and to 360 media.

I have some sneak peek pictures of actress Katerina Graham photo shoot from 944 magazine! The girl looks great and I’m sure some of you have seen her in the hit show Vampire Diaries.

I had the pleasure of meeting her at an event a few months back and she was cute as a button. She covers 944 magazine’s The Nightlife Issue on newstands next month!(click to enlarge pics to read interview)

In her interview with Editor Isoul Harris Katerina says:

“I will never date a celebrity again,” says Katerina “Kat” Graham. Such absolutes coming from a 20-year-old would normally sound absurd. “It’s just too much. [They] are way too self-centered. Women like to feel special and [be] the main focus. Selfishness is a huge turnoff.” Always one to try something at least once, Graham was game. “I did it”.
