I can still smell the aroma from the food I ate yesterday! Yes, it was that good. In the Buckhead area of Atlanta I visited a fabulous place called, Shula’s Grill 347. It’s named after Don Shula who was a coach for many NFL football teams. After viewing his Bio I found out that he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1951. Thats my hometown, so I knew I was going to like this establishment!

I have a pinktastic friend by the name of Tara Raun who’s a foodie as well that accompanied me to dine. We walked in and loved the decor,music and spacious dining area. We were greeted by a very chipper waiter by the name of Billy who said he was going to take care of us. He said, “let me surprise you”!

Blackened Tenderloin Tips

When he returned he had Blackened Tenderloin Tips that melted in your mouth,yum! They were tender and delish! Next out the kitchen were Sweet Chili Shrimp! Dear Lord, I almost did a cartwheel in the middle of the dining area because man those were some good shrimp! Billy smiled as we took our first bite! Yes, I need an order to go, I yelled! They were tangy and the sauce made them even more delectable!

The Tomato & Mozzarella Salad Chop Salad was fresh and the Balsamic dressing was tasty! Shortly afterwards our entrees arrived. Billy brought us out Grilled Shrimp and Club Shula Sandwich. The proportions are huge, so you definitely have enough left over to take home for a late night slack because Tara and I were stuffed after tasting everything. I wanted to save room for dessert and I’m glad I did!

Everything we tasted from the menu was great. My fav ofcourse was the Sweet Chili Shrimp and the Tenderloin. The desserts were in a class all by their self. The creme brulee was just right with a crunch finish on top, loved it! Tara enjoyed her meal as well. Billy came over with a banging drink called, The Side Car and when I sipped it, I started laughing because it had a great punch to it. With the great atmosphere, indoor and outside dining and friendly staff we will surely be back! Look out for a cocktail party coming soon! Highland Bakery,Hometown Good!

I was invited out to try Highland Bakery the other day! When you walk in you can smell the fresh baked bread in the air! I knew I was going to have a great time! Higland Bakery might sound familiar to you because its located in the 4th ward in the historic part of Atlanta and has been featured on many tv shows, such as Food Network.

I was then introduced to Stacey the owner of Highland Bakery. She has this phenomenal smile and warm personality! I knew we were going to hit if off. She said she recognized me from another event and Yes I do remember you! She had done many entrepreneurial things in the food business but she was the first in Atlanta to have an expresso coffee stand in the city.

After that, she got word of a restaurant that was up for sell and when she went to look at the place, she knew it had great potential, Highland Bakery was born. My girlfriend Veronica and I were getting spoiled as they started bringing out food for us to sample! First out was their famous sweet potato pancakes, loved the fresh maple syrup and nuts! After that we both placed our orders. I had the Crab Burger and Veronica ordered the Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich, both were sooo good!

I was telling Stacey that I didn’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day because my hubby was tired from being on the road, so with a great surprise she brought me out a Valentine’s Day cake! It was so pretty that I didn’t want to cut it,lol. They are also known for their great cakes that has been featured on many tv shows as well!

Sal Grosso Brazilian Steak House

A friend and I headed to Sal Grosso for a lunch date this afternoon. I had never been to the restaurant but heard good things about it. We walked in and loved the decor of the restaurant and bar area. Straight ahead was a huge buffet set up with all sorts of cold salads and heated side items.

We were quickly seated, when a nice waitress came over and started to explain to us about the place and the menu. She was very knowledgable about the establishment and told us she had been a server there for over 8yrs. She then showed us a card. One side of the card was for the Gauchos to bring us more food and on the other side was to let them know, not now. I thought that was soo cool!

She directed us over to the salad buffet for our side items and said that when we returned to the table the Gauchos would bring out over 14 different cuts of meats.They had swordfish, chicken,beef,pork,tenderloin,steak,ribs and more! They come to your table, then ask you if you would like medium well, or well then they slice it for you.

I had a variety of different cut meats and loved the garlic tenderloin,ribs and chicken,it was seasoned just right. I was full in a few minutes, plus I am not a huge meat eater and with the yummy sides, I was stuffed lol. Our waitress catered to our every need and checked on us periodically to make sure we were ok. She then brought over a cart full of sweet treats. I asked for the raspberry cheesecake to go because I couldn’t eat another bite.

If I were trying to impress someone at a business meeting, this would be a perfect spot to take them for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere and food is great and it’s located right off 285 in Smyrna, Ga. The staff is very cheerful plus it’s something different than your average place for lunch. I happened to get a glance a someones check who had a party of two. Please make sure you bring plenty of cash or a major credit card because it’s not cheap lol. I would like to thank Green Olive Media for the sending me out. We had a lovely dining experience at Sal Grosso.
