A Gang of Friends Attend The 5th Annual BBQ With 135th St. Agency

Last night, NYC-based marketing/PR firm the 135^th Street Agency kicked off BET Hip Hop Awards Week with its 5^th Annual BBQ – now in Atlanta for the first time (instead of Harlem). On a beautiful starry night, nearly 400 VIPs packed Piedmont Park’s Magnolia Hall, including event co-hosts Fonzworth Bentley and Kelly G (BET’s Sr. Music Supervisor), along with featured DJs Drama, Trauma and Traci Steele. Guests sipped complimentary Remy V cocktails and FUZE drinks while chowing on hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausages, bbq chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn, Popeye’sfried chicken and an assortment of cupcakes from Cocktail Cupcakes and Tasty Cakes ATL. While attendees danced and dined, enjoyed the Blogger’s Lounge constructed by Talking With Tami with notables such as Ray J, Da Brat, French Montana, Devyne Stephens, Dondria, Lil Duval, Verse Simmonds, Jovita Moore(WSB TV anchor), Kwanza Hall (Atlanta City Council), Faune Watkins, D.Woods, Shanti Das, Derek J and comedian Shawty mixed and mingled.

Universal Pictures was on hand to promote their upcoming action-comedy Tower Heist, starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. Guests enjoyed a little Tower Heist experience in the ever-popular OMG Booth, and went home with gift bags filled with swag from Dr. Miracles, Carol’s Daughter, Rocksmith, Mixed Chicks, The Sourceand JUICY Magazine.

ATL Live On The Park Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Last night It looks like I missed out on some fun in the sun and great party at ATL Live On The Park! Producer Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols was back along with over 200 Atlanta’s Finest and music industry folks to celebrate the One Year Anniversary of Atl Live On The Park. Its a live music showcase in the city of Atlanta. My friend R.L. and the group Next was in the building and headlined the show.

Fonzworth Bentley was also there with his pretty wife and showed off his fancy footwork on stage! A new hip hop duo Big Heed & Alien(the fantastic drummer I had the pleasure of meeting) also performed. Celebrity sightings were Sheree Whitfiled, Devyne Stephens, Q Parker, Tameka Raymond,Ron Devoe and Bob Whitfield. Enjoy the pics! The next ATL Live On The Park is scheduled for June 14th.

26th Annual Mayor’s Masquerade Ball in Atlanta

The UNCF 26th Annual Mayor’s Masked Ball was held at the Atlanta-Marriott-Marquis last night. There was a Holiday Silent Auction and Pre-Ball Reception first that was fun. My girlfriend Dr. Zelda Pittman invited me to attend this Pinktabulous event. You guys it was the most prettiest party I’ve ever been to and I would like to applaud the event planner who put together this ball! The details were very well thought out and I really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful table scapes,and atmosphere,stunning and absolutely gorgeous! Did I also tell yah the tickets were $500 smackaroos,well dang! Thank goodness I know folks, tee hee!

This masked ball was so entertaining! We saw the Parade of Stars and Dignitaries,with Chris Tucker,Bern Nadette Stanis, Dawn Lewis, Kimberly Cole, KiKi Shephard,Deetria McKinney, Ambassador Andrew Young and his wife Carolyn,Mayor Shirley Franklin and a host of others strut their stuff.

We then had an elegant dinner in which we had lobster tails and filet mignon,key lime pie and red velvet cake. I was in heaven,yum! We then saw The Parade of Masks which was very fun to watch, the masks were very extravagant!

I loved my pink mask designed by the Wilbourn Sisters they also modeled their masks and clothing at the party!

Later on people started dancing and mingling and then En Vogue performed! They did a great job singing some of their old hits! One of the girls couldn’t make it because she got snowed in, she lives in Virginia. The Masquerade Ball raised over 28,000 for the United Negro College Fund at this event.Wow great job and God Bless those who donated for the cause,its so important!

At the Ball they had alot of great items for auction, like a signed guitar from Jay Z, paintings,jewels and more. Shout out to Zelda for inviting me. I had a great time going to the Mayor’s Ball and cant wait to go again next year! You know we have a new mayor now, Kasim Reed I wonder how he will do this event next year,hmm?
