TalkingWithTami: When did you know that fitness would be your niche?
Well coming from an athletic background since the age of 9, fitness has always been a part of my life, so it became evident at an early age when I saw how fitness could impact and change someone’s life. From overcoming illnesses, building self esteem to taking charge of one’s life is why my passion for fitness grew and expanded into becoming a fitness expert and wellness coach. It was always so amazing to me the transformations that the body is capable of.
TalkingWithTami: You have seen me in person Tammie. Tell me what you would recommend for a mom,tv host,crazy lady running around Atlanta and abroad, that doesnt have time to exercise?
Tammie, what I would recommend for someone like you is, to commit 10 minutes of your day to doing a circuit -strength training type workout for starters if you are pressed for time. Then as you find more time you can increase this to 15 to 30 minutes and changing it up adding some interval work as well to increase your cardiovascular endurance. The key is to plan your workouts and make time so that you keep some type of consistency. Also adapting a nutritional plan that works with your type of schedule. Here are a few workout examples.
Circuit training is a selected group of exercises that are performed going from one exercise to the next with no rest in between until the one full round is completed. Then repeat as time allows.
Example: 10 Minute circuit training
Jumprope for 2 minutes (or air jumprope)
Mountain climbers 1 minute
Alternating lunges 2 minutes
Pushups 1 minute
Squats with biceps curls 1 minute
Plie squats with upright rows 1 minute
Bicycle crunches (abs) 1 minute
Plank-(core/abs) 1 minute
On the circuit, you can use just your body weight but adding weights or tubing will create more resistance to work the muscles. Even on the jump rope, if you don’t have one you can mimic having a jumprope (air roping)
Interval training is basically exercise which consists of activity at high intensity for a period of time, followed by low intensity exercise for a period of time. These ‘sets’ are repeated until set time is reached.
Example: Run/walk interval
Walk for 2 minutes then run or jog for 1 minute then repeat a many times within the allotted time you have available.

TalkingWithTami: Who are some of your clients that you train? My clients are athletes, entertainers, executives, housewives, and fitness models. I train individuals who are serious about their health and wellness from all walks of life.
TalkingwithTami: I know that there is one thing you treat yourself that is unhealthy,come on tell us? lol Ok, I will spill the beans. Usually for me it’s oatmeal raisin cookies or dark chocolate for my cheat day but, I just stumbled upon Brewster’s blueberry cobbler ice cream, which is just down right sinful but so yummy!
