I couldn’t wait for this movie to come out NINE! I was excited and got my tickets in advance and even went by myself because everybody was tied up with holiday stuff. I get to the theater and first thing I noticed was that the seats were half empty! This was Christmas night and the movie theatre was packed! Sherlock Holmes lines were long as heck but nobody was in Nine, first clue!
I sat down and the movie started. It started off with a bang then sizzled out quickly! I think that Daniel Day-Lewis is a great actor but he was a lil hard to watch dancing and singing lol. I also didn’t understand how he had all these women drooling over him. To me, he looks ok but not drop dead gorgeous like Daniel Craig lol.
That was a little unbelievable for me. He was suppose to play a married man in the movie that was a film director but was weak to beautiful women. It just didn’t make sense to me. In the movie, he was having a hard time trying to stay focused, while trying to make another hit movie.
Penelope Cruz did a great job and she played a sexy singer/actress and his mistress. Kate Hudson was another person that I didn’t think was good for the role of a sex symbol. She is more of a girl next door, or the fun chic you want to party with but not a sex symbol at all, not believable. Plus, she had a very small role in the movie.
Fergie wasn’t even worth talking about because she was in the movie for like 3 minutes. You wouldn’t even recognize her if you didn’t watch the trailer first or look really fast lol.
Throughout the movie, people kept getting up and leaving. I counted 15 in total. Alot of the people were saying it sucked, ouch! I haven’t seen people do that since GoodFellas because of all the commentary in it. The scenery and costumes were beautiful but the movie was very hard to understand and it was all over the place. I wish that it was better but it wasn’t. I heard it got alot of Oscar buzz but I don’t know how. It was an epic fail for me. I’m not a movie critic at all but I do go to movies alot. So all of this is my opinion, enjoy and go see it if you like but I’m warning you in advance lol. I give this movie a D!
