So I watched Kathleen Madigan’s stand up comedy show on DVD this morning.This 64 minute dvd was pretty good. I didn’t fall out of my chair from laughter but it made me chuckle a few times. I wasn’t expecting her to have such a southern accent and tomb boyish style. I was waiting for her to pull out a square at anytime and drink a beer lol. She reminds me of the “Get her done guy”, just dressed up in a sparkly blouse lol.
She had some funny topics starting with her own irish/catholic family. She comes from a family of 7.Her dad was an attorney focusing on fighting insurance companies.She said when she was 9yrs old her dad said if you’re going to kill yourself, make sure you drive into a tree and never leave a note lol. She also talked about her and her sister having similar names Kathleen and Catherine. She said, “what,I wasn’t up to your standards so you tried again” lol. She had some great stories there.
She talked about Religion,Politics and being over in Afghanistan entertaining the troops. Lots of the national guards from Missouri were there and she couldn’t figure out who would guard her hometown if some nut job decided to do something lol.
She also was a big Hillary Clinton supporter and doesn’t like Sarah Palin. She siad any lady that can’t cuss right can’t be trusted lol. She also joked about the tea party and how she told one activist to reread the handbook because back in the day women couldn’t vote.
I loved how she said she loves to dvr the tv show Hoarders. A friend of hers asked why she had so many Hoarder shows taped, and she responded by saying I’m hoarding Hoarders shows lol.
She talked about Oprah and how she doesn’t watch her show.She said Oprah tells women about her favorite things and Jimmy Choo shoes, then turns around and show stories of women in debt lol. She called her chubby a lot and said as much money as she has, why doesn’t she hire a full time hand slapper to keep food from her mouth! I was laughing there lol.
Kathleen talked about home loans and thought it was funny that the lady in the bank gave her one for 350,000. The lady put on her application that she was a clown. That was funny!
She had some great original jokes and on the menu there is an Interview section where she shows herself preparing for a show and out on the town. On the Behind the Scenes section she shows her family backstage, with some celeb sightings as well. I would give this dvd a B+
