Last night I hosted a blogger’s party held at PZI Jeans headquarters. Claire Jason, Vice President of the Co. and Founder was so eager to meet some of my blogger buddies and show them around her new denim suite. We were greeted with cocktails, noshes, and candlelight when we entered the building.

Once everyone arrived I welcomed them and introduced Claire. The first thing Claire wanted to discuss was that there were some confusion out there about her product. She wanted it to be clear that Its not a plus size line.It’s also not blue jeans for big boody girls in the club. Its for real women with curves she said. Their jeans have contoured waists and fits in the hips, rear & thighs just right! There is also a 4″ inseam and available in Short-Regular-Long-Extra Long lengths to eliminate expensive alterations.

Their multiple jean line is available in Skinny,Straight, Boot, Wide Leg and Flare Leg openings. After Claire’s presentation the ladies and I got to try on their jeans and everyone was surprised at how well they fit. We also got to tour the warehouse where Claire explained how shipping worked and organization.

I have several pairs of PZI jeans and they truly fit my shape. I have a smaller waste and big hips, thighs and butt! I have been wearing PZI Jeans for over 4 years and love them! You can go into to denim suite during business hours and also host your own denim parties where there is huge dressing rooms, bar and lounge area!

Also Claire informed us that actress Lisa Raye would be coming aboard to design an all white line of denim! They did a model call in Beverly Hills, Ca and it drew a huge crowd. The line will come out next year so look out for that soon!

Ladies Who Launch recap!

Yesterday was the Live Ladies Who Launch event! The event was held at The DeFoor Centre in Atlanta,Ga. Ladies Who Launch is the first new media company to provide resources and connections for women entrepreneurs. I remember taking the incubator workshop a couple of years ago and I learned so much on how to run and market my business. In my class there were 10 womenpreneurs and we still keep in touch today. I ran into my classmate Leslie Grant who owns, Chickin Feed LLC, she launched her Co. in 2007. Chickin Feed helps families understand the basics of healthy eating.I’m so proud of Leslie and her company is doing very well. She has appeared in all sorts of magazines and has appeared on the Rachel Ray show!

I saw my buddy Angela Stalcup who is the Market Director of Ladies Who Launch. She looked fabulous and also owns The Curvy Life! Her company has created conversations about our definition of beauty and attractiveness and is challenging the unrealistic standards of the female body so prevalent in modern media. I also saw my instructor Traci Long who has now become the CEO of Ladies Who Launch! I’m so proud of her, Woot!

I also saw the Founder of Ladies Who Launch Victoria Colligan, we are both from Cleveland,Ohio. She started Ladies Who Launch in 2002. She is also, Co Author of the book, Ladies who Launch: Embracing Entrepreneurship and Creativity as a Lifestyle. I remember seeing her on The Today show, and thats when I wanted to sign up for a class lol.

The event took place from 9-5pm with featured speakers like, Claire Jason Co Founder of PZI Jeans (and my sponsor) lol. There was a Product-Launch panel, Author Power Hour, in which I met Author: Debra Shigley, she wrote, The Go-Getter Girls Guide: Get what you want in Work and Life(and Look Great while your at It). We are Facebook buddies and I finally got a chance to meet her lol. Next was The Fresh Entrepreneur,then my session called, “Launching Live Tv”. In this session, I had the opportunity to interview Corinna Allen from CBS Better Mornings and Holly Firfer, freelance Anchor for Cnn.

During that time we discussed how we landed jobs on tv,which Holly and I explained that we were accidental journalist lol. Corinna shared fun stories about how she got started on local tv in her hometown and covered nuclear waste and Holly shared stories about covering hurricanes back in the day lol. Holly and I felt like we’re dinosaurs in the media world now because of all the technology out now.

After our session there was a Break Out Session with experts,Door prizes and closing remarks. It’s such a great event to go to and I highly recommend you guys check it out next year! They do the do the workshops all the time and the live event is yearly. Thanks to Ladies Who Launch for having me back for another year.

It was also great to meet soo many wonderful women in business at the event too many to mention but keep doing your thing! Happy Launching! And a special shout out to Josefa Laguna (Amour Bijou) for making my custom pink rhinestoned flower,everyone loved it! Check out pics below!

Ambushed on CBS Better Mornings today!

Today my hubby surprised me! You think you know a person that you have been with for 12 years,but noooo! Hubby called me this morning and said,”Lets go to lunch”! I was like sure, since we do it anyway, atleast once a week,so I didn’t think anything of it. I should have none something smelled fishy! Smh!

So I hop in the batmobile with him and we started driving, he was textin and driving(I know bad boy). I started yelling,”hey watch the road, damn you”! He chuckled and we proceed on the freeway and drive for what seemed a lifetime lol. We get to the destination, which was a coffe place called, Javo’s. I was confused because I was very hungry and I dont drink coffee. I wanted to fuss but didnt say anything because I didnt want to seem ungrateful. We go in and they had sandwiches, so I ordered a javo club. It turned out to be a great sandwich by the way!

Soon after, we sit down and chit chat, when a news crew comes in and Corinna Allen from CBS Better Mornings walks through the door,all gorgeous and statuesque. I was thinking hmm, I wonder what are they coming in here for? They bee lined right over to me and Corinna said,”Hi Tammie Reed, you’ve been Ambushed to get a makeover! Im sitting there smiling but not understanding eating my sandwich! Then the camera points in my face, and I immediately start to sweat! I think I said,”Oh wow, let me tweet my friends” or something like that,then cut my eyes at my hubby… lmao!

We got up and walked over to WildSeed Boutique. Inside, they have some cool looking clothes. Ive never been on that side of town,so all the lil shops in this area was so fun to see! Boutique owners Set and Tamura showed me around and helped me pick out some great pieces. They have some great shoes,purses,belts,dresses,leggings,and more! I flet like a lil girl in a huge candy store! I was loving every minute of it lol.

I tried on several outfits when owner Claire Jason of Pzi jeans showed up with several different styles of jeans,shirts and tunics! I was happy because running around Atlanta, I like to be comfy,plus im familiar with her brand and they are easier for me to wear! So that was my outfit of choice.

Shortly afterwards, Zavia Ross arrived, they introduced me to her and said,she was going to do my hair and makeup. She told me she works for CNN and the Weather Channel doing the tv personalities hair and faces. I asked her did she know news anchor Robin Meade and she said,”yes I’ve done her before”. I was very impressed, because I always admired Robin and how she looks on tv. Zavia gave me some tips on applying makeup and how to fix quick cute lil styles for my long boring hair lol. She was so nice!

After about an hour,Corinna then called my hubby back into the boutique and they gathered around for the unveiling. My hubby was smiling ear to ear when I walked out and said,”oh my she looks nice”! My hubby is very quiet normally and just sits back and let me shine.He liked how I looked and said,”ok we have to go out now”.

I cant believe he emailed the show and told them I deserved a makeover. I was very impressed and I love him for that! Great job Daddy! I would like to thank CBS Better Mornings,Corinna Allen,WildSeed,PZIJeans,and Zavia Ross for my makeover today,I met some very talented people and I will never forget this experience! I loved my hair,makeup, and outfit,you guys rock! I feel Pinktastic! Whoop! The show will air next week,stay tuned!
