Media Appreciation Luncheon Hosted By Microsoft

The other day I headed down to the Microsoft store for a media appreciation luncheon held by Angela Watts owner of AW Media Group and Christal Nims of Enchanted Pr. It was a fun filled afternoon as we learned about new products that was coming out and we also got to try out new gadgets. I had a Sony Vaio computer for years before I got hooked on Apple products. I really thought the “Source” was cool, the way you can manipulate images and make them larger. My hubby still loves Microsoft though and just recently bought a new tablet and Dell laptop. So we are pretty diverse in the Reed house.We also chatted about what pr people are looking for with social media outlets, what we as media want from pr companies and more. Purple Ribbon Kidz Shuts Down Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta

What grammy award winning dad gives his daughter her own record label where she can sign her own artist and have creative control? Yes, thats what took place here in Atlanta at Hard Rock Cafe this afternoon for Jordan Patton! Antwan Patton known to millions as Big Boi from the group Outcast held a private launch party for his daughter’s own record label titled, Purple Ribbon Kidz!

As my kids and I drove down Peachtree,we saw the line wrapped around the building with youngsters holding signs, chanting and looking Purplicious, all excited to see all the talent ready to hit the stage.

It was quite something to see on this blistering hot day but that didn’t stop the kids and family from coming out to see all the fun. We stepped onto the purple carpet and it was pure excitement as we entered the doors! It was music pumping,purple decor,food galore, chicken fingers,fruit kabobs,hamburgers, mac n cheese, sodas,gourmet cookies, and purple candies throughout the place!

A young host by the name of Adrian Kali Turner did all the interviews on the carpet and opened the show,he was very energetic! He has a bright future ahead of him, great personality! I was taping my feet to the beats of DJ Priest who I found out was only eleven years old! What a cutie and he was absolutely Pinkerrific!

There were performances by rapper Cypress,Audio (Formerly B5), girl group Von Grey, and Purple Ribbon’s first signed artist, Gabbie Rae. Jordan found Gabbie on youtube and thought she was fab and signed her after introducing the young starlet to her dad.

Cypress kept the crowd hyped while rapping some of his songs, then r&b group Audio shut down the stage with all the girls in front row going wild! Von Grey played their own musical instruments and sang two songs, then it was time for Gabbie Rae to hit the stage. All the kiddies rushed to the front to see her perform. They showed a quick video then she came out singing 3 songs. She had great stage presence and nice lyrics. The kids song along with her as she sang her heart out. Gabbie thanked all her fans, her parents,Big Boi, Jordan and God for making it all possible.

Jordan already has great ears and eyes for talent, she’s starting out as a great chicapreneur, keep up the great work! By the way, it was her 16th birthday and Big Boi could have did a big shing ding for her sweet sixteen but I think that Jordan will remember this huge birthday present for the rest of her life!
