Antique shopping with Eddie Ross

Yesterday I had a blast hanging out with interior designer/reality star Eddie Ross. He has been on my site several times and he is in Atlanta this week for the gift show at America’s Mart. While here he had a tour of Scott’s Antiques Market on Sunday. I have been there before but I had camera drama and never posted the pics, so I went again yesterday lol.

He had a nice crowd of people who came out and to learn how to shop for antiques and more. Eddie talked about great gifts you could give to people for weddings, like sterling silver to copper molds that could be engraved. I would have never thought to do that and it’s very personal and classy gift to give to a happy couple.

We also learned about canning chairs, reupholstering, antique books and how to glue them together and make book ends. We learned about hotel silver and how to collect them and use them for flower arrangements and buffets. We then learned about French ivory silverware and french knives. If you have chipped glasses but love them, there was a guy in the market that restored your glasses too.

I also saw some of my blogger buddies there like Jennifer from FiddleDeeDee and Erika from BluLabelBungalow. We had a good time!

It was so much to learn and I got some great ideas for hostess gifts and more! Eddie Ross with be at the gift show here in Atlanta on Saturday for a live demo, so try to stop by the America’s Mart. Thanks to Eddie and Jaithan for having us out!

Queen of Hearts Antiques & Interiors

As you guys already know,I love to thrift shop and antique shop. My style is pretty eclectic so I’m all over the place. When my house was made over on HGTV’s Deserving Design that really was not my style but great for tv lol. Vern did a great job on our house but I picked out something that would satisfy my hubby and also something durable for my kids lol. If it was left up to me, I would have pink,white and lace everywhere. I love shabby chic.

I asked my daughter to come hang out with me yesterday and she quickly gave me the side eye. She said, “mom no”! I said,” oh come on, I won’t be in there long”. She just looked at me and said,”ok but I need some new colored pencils”.So off we went down the road to Queen of Hearts Antique & Interiors. They do not have a website but they have 3 locations. The one I frequent is located at 4125 Ga.Highway 20, Buford,Ga 30518.

In this store, you will get overwhelmed because of all the rows and rows of stuff. If your looking for jewelry,hats,vintage clothes,furniture,gloves,purses,knick knacks or whatever they have it for sure! When we walked in, I saw soo much new stuff!

There is also this lady that has 3 booths inside the store and her name is Debbie Shine. Her little boutique is so sparkly with rhinestones everywhere, I love it! I stop by her booth every time I go there . On this visit she was finally there! She told me she was a actress but this was her passion,her lil boutique. I bought a gorgeous silk flower from her. She told me how to wear it in my hair or pin it to my clothing, very sweet.

If your are ever in the Buford,Ga area please stop in, you never know what you may see. I even spotted some toys from my past that brought back alot of memories.They always have some surprises in there.The prices vary because its not a thrift store, but most items are still reasonable. Private dinner with Eddie Ross

Ok you guys sit back and grab a cup of coffee or tea and get ready to read this! Ok, so tonight I went to a private dinner party for Eddie Ross, my hottie new friend from the Top Design show on Bravo. Eddie Ross is an amazing designer,editor, antique shopping guru. Some how, some way the Gods from up above channeled him to find me and now he is my bestie!

Yes, I said that and I mean it. He is the coolest guy I’ve ever met and I could tell from his emails that he was very professional, a lil type A like me and a complete nut just like me and sure enough, we bonded right away! We laughed so hard, it was sickening! Ok back to the dinner party.

This gorg event was held at a chic lil place called, JCT Kitchen located in downtown Atlanta. There were about 15 guest that I got to meet and come to find out most of them were bloggers as well. It was so fun learning about all the other guests blogs and interest. Jaithan,did a great job coordinating the event, it was so nice and very well put together.

I saw some familiar faces like Shemeeka Ayers from Broke Socialite and Kerry Big Daddy Howard and Marian Anderson from Haute Travels. I also met some new friends like Patti Davis who has a blog called, AnatomyOfADinnerParty, author Mary Kay Andrews, writer Jennifer Bonds,Stephen McKenzie president and CEO of Larson Juhl and his staff Arlynn and Lynn, who hosted this Pinktastic event! There were more fabulous people there, I’m just naming a few, but the food was amazing and the conversation was too funny!

I really enjoyed myself, and my mirrored picture frame will be hung up in my breezeway, its such a Pinkalicious keepsake! I will always remember this day!
