My friend Lisa Wu Hartwell unveiled her new clothing line called, “Closet Freak” a 501-3c non profit organization. It was held at 595 North Ave in Atlanta,Ga. The designer of the clothing, Evelyn Lambert has been featured on my blog in the past.
Proceeds from the line helps women and children that are victims of domestic violence. Im loving this pink lil number that Lisa is wearing, too cute! The show was well done and full of color! I really want to support the black businesses, I really do, but those prices for Lisa’s clothing line is insane! The quality of her dresses looks very cheap and I would not pay no more than $20 for them. She is asking for $48 for a t-shirt, so this gives me an idea of what her dresses, and jumpsuits are going to go for.
I’m a huge fan of the show and I think Lisa’s clothing line is great. She doing this line for a good cause and I’ve been threw domestic volience and have overcome the situation as well. I’m a 41 year old who would love to purchase items from the clothing line, so where do I go to do some shopping?

I am VERY disappointed in Lisa’s line. Everything look so cheap! The fabric is horrible! And I know purple is in, but her outfit look so cheap and ghetto! On some of the pictures the stitching looks horrible. It look like her outfit was thrown together in the last five minutes!!! HATE IT!!!
Lisa, do the darn thing. I like some of your pieces and will definitely be looking out for them. I enjoyed the fashion show and thought you did a wonderful job. Plus Ms. Sheree was HATING on u.

Those clothes should stay in the closet where they belong. They should NEVER be worn out in public…EVER. Cheap fabrics, horrible hems and stitching, too busy of a set design…all just made for a disastrous show. Dwight was trying to guve you some much needed, HONEST constructive criticism…and you should listen. Anyone who told you that was the best show that they had ever seen in Atlanta is lying to you!!!!!!!! If this is truly what you want to do, then please put the time, energy and money into it that is necessary for it to live up to its fullest potential.
I love Lisa but these clothes are tasteless! I can see these items being sold at Dots Rainbow or some LoWWWWW end stores. Looking at them up close on this site you can really see that it was a rush job! That and the actual designs are horrible. Lisa is still the bomb but she needs to stay in her lane.
A HOTTT MESS!!! Instead of having all the different businesses why not just do one thing WELL? You may have money but you don’t have taste so you should not be designing anything. You are a beautiful person and I think most things would look good on you, but Closet Freak won’t look good on anybody. Sheree has really good taste in fashion and she has a much better design than yours…you should give it up!
Lisa’s line wasn’t that bad, yes there were a few pieces that needed to be left out, but all together I give her props.
I believe that with Lisa’s drive, she will pull her clothes line together; just needs a few tweaks.
Reading over some of the comments here, it almost sounds like Sheree was having a haters sleepover and they all took turns writing about Lisa’s clothes line. When there’s no need to hate, there’s plenty of room in the fashion world for both of them. To me Sheree seems bitter, about many things.
We are huge fans of the show…..however, Lisa should try her hand @ another endeavor because fashion is not her strong suit (no pun intended!) We live in the NYC area where fashion week is currently taking place so we got a glimpse of She by Sheree….. in the words of Miss Dwight: “how dreadful”!Both of you (Lisa and Sheree) need to concentrate on being good housewives! And yes I (Ryan) said that!
I believe in supporting the community but I can’t say that I was at all impressed by the line. And it could just be me and I may be in the minority but Lisa’s description of the line and the actual garments (to me) don’t…what’s the word…well…they aren’t fun yet sophisticated (I believe that’s what she said). The garments actually made me question her level of taste.

I think Lisa will prove all the nay sayers wrong with her fashion line. More power to you girl. Cause if you don’t have a few haters then you’re not doing something right.
Lisa, Lisa, Lisa… Girl you tried and I understand the concept, but BABY that was a HOT ASS MESS if I ever seen one. I dont know if the fault lies in your designer or your seamstress but the ball was dropped and kicked down the street. I urge you to start from scratch and stop rushing you have proven that it takes more that a few months to successfully execute the concept, designs and samples togehter and several redos. Give it time on the next effort and review and try on everything before you present it to the public. GOOD LUCK
Definitely to each his/her own when it comes to fashion but when discussing prices…if you spend good money on fashion created by white people please make sure you are willing to pay the price for items designed by people that are black too (assuming most who commented are black). If you don’t like Lisa’s fashion…whatever…but don’t forget to find some black designers you like and support them. Much love.

Lisa, I give u an A for effort. You need to do a lot more research and find a better designer.As the saying goes everything aint for everyone. You are a great mother, daughter, friend, wife and business woman but fashions isnt for you. But I do love your Cause.
Also you are a great role model. Many women can learn a thing or two from you. You didnt show up to self centered, pretentious, unsuccessful, golddigging Sheree event late even though she showed up to urs late.
Most importantly you are a great person please keep up the good work.

Lisa, if you really want to be taken serious as a fashion designer then please devote the time to educate yourself about the industry. Based on your fashion show, it’s obvious that you don’t know anything about the industry or how to create a successful production. I think the show was very tacky, ghetto, and lacked creative vision and style. Although this wasn’t shown on the show but I saw on Bravo website where you also had entertainers as apart of the act. Focus!! The staged looked like a Tyler Perry play, Madea Goes Shopping… Less is more, dear. Learn the craft and go to school and get a degree in business. I have a BS in business and I can tell you desparately need education. Go luck! You need it!
I pretty much LIKED it, it was rugged and artistic yet classy and tastefull. I believe that Lisa’s clothing line did not have to be what the youth is interested in but what the more artistic and mature were interested in. The youth in today’s world are tasteless and vulgar and people can’t get mad at her for designing something different and original. I know what, everybody that just wants to say something bad about Lisa just to say something bad can stick it because Lisa is one of the most successful black women in America who’s not afraid to take clothing designs to that point where no one has gone.

Anytime a human being dares to dream so big to compete with the existing greats of their genre – well they should be commended. Can you honestly say that ANY clothing line is a perfect fit everytime…very few can stake that claim. Lisa is new at her craft and will build her empire as she absorbs what works and what does not work. I for one may or may not buy her clothes but I will never put her down…if her fabrics and stitching need an upgrade then tell her…but to bash is so unnecessary and hateful and only reveals how you feel about yourself. YES YOURSELF. If you cannot uplift others it is because YOU are not uplifted…if you cannot find something GOOD to say then why say anything…or why not try being CONSTRUCTIVE with your criticsm.

I am a big fan of the show and love everyone and for what I have seen of Lisa clothing line, I think it was…..well just describing what my taste is I would have to say that Lisa’s Closet Freak clothing line is not my style. I don’t think it was Lisa’s style either I think she rushed everything and should of swallowed her pride and followed Dwight’s advise. I can see you have a vision you don’t quite have a finger on it yet, but is it coming and when it does watch out all you closet freaks that haven’t come out of the closet this time when you come out it will be FIERCE.
First let me say I am a huge fan of the show! I enjoyed watching the show every week and never missed a episode! I will say that i believe that Lisa gave a good effort in producing a clothing line however i think she should have done more research before having a fashion show. It was too rush! What was the rush?? I still don’t understand why she wanted to launch after just two months of its conception. I hope the next fashion show is more put together. I think what really bothered me was the fact she couldn’t take criticism from Dwight. I think that was in poor taste! Nothing is wrong with good criticism and it wasn’t like he said it to throw shade or hate just helping out a friend.
Don’t like the satin fabrics and she used it too much. The line would have looked way better with the use of different fabrics. Happy for her but probably would not buy anything since that satin stuff reminds me of CHEAP, CHEAP. Good Luck Lisa

Lisa you are not a fashionista. You really should go back to school get a degree and get a profession that is more suited for you. After all although you are on tv pretending to be extremely rich people who know you realize that you and Ed are perpetrating a lie. By the way, when Andy Cohen asked you about your foeclosed mansion on the reunion show you really evaded the question. Bottom line stop pretending to be what you are not!!!!!
