So today I started my workout sessions with my girlfriend Lisa Wu Hartwell. Yes, she is a trainer and she is a gym rat, so who else would I ask to help me to whip me back into shape. Funny thing you guys, I wasn’t always this size. I was an aerobic instructor and swimsuit model back in my hey day but after getting married and having kids, I kinda let myself go.

I would get motivated for awhile and then slip back into depression and laziness. Now,I have picked myself back up and decided to give it one more go around! I called my buddy and we decided to meet up at LA Fitness for a workout. Lisa is so different at the gym, than me seeing her on the red carpet lol. She had on her game face and she was dead serious! Yikes!

She told me I needed to tone and do alot of cardio. I’m standing there like Cardio? Ok, I’ve been out of the loop for awhile so I listened on. She showed me what we were going to do for the day and the first thing we did was tread mill, I think thats what it was lol. She set the timer and said, ok go! I was thinking to myself, go where? I tried to start off slow but it kept going faster, Oh lawd,help me Jesus! Lisa was next to me literally sprinting… damn her ass!

After that we moved on to another thingy that looked like the same thing we had just got off of.. smh! We did that for another 20 minutes. My thighs and legs were yelling for me to quit but I kept going. By this time Lisa is running full speed on the thingy and I thought she was going to kill herself. I asked her how long has she been working out she said since she was 16. Wow, thats great, as I thought about Krispy Kreme across the street lol.

When Lisa works out she doesn’t talk much and I can respect that because it messes up your zone. She was very focused, so I kept as quiet as I could. You know I love to talk and thought we would take more breaks but nope, she was like give me 16 of these, 10 of those.I was like are you serious,lol. We did some weights and push ups and more, I was dying but kept on!

She told me I would see a difference in about 30 days, so you guys I’m too excited to see the results. I’m a 12/14 now, so I have a ways to go and Lisa told me she is about a size 2. I don’t want to be that small, I would look ridiculous lol. I just want to tone up and get rid of the fat.

I will be journaling my progress and taking pics along the way, so you guys check back to see my progress. In the new year, I hope to slim down some and then hopefully my family will follow suit as well. Happy New Years to you guys and to your families!

    You go Tami, I am proud that you took the first steps I know they were hard but the road will get easier as you continue your progress. Don’t worry you are not alone…..you web buddy Karen (me) will be working out with you. I am also on a mission for 2010.   5. That is so exciting. I wish I had a trainer to help me stay motivated. Right now, it’s just me and my dusty old tread mill (and my McDonald’s french fries).Good luck with the weight loss!

    Good luck! I can completely relate to your struggles. I decided last week to commit to walking Kennesaw Mountain at least once a week and try to do some cardio as well. Seeing you gives me more motivation! I look forward to seeing both of our results in 30 days…….Stay strong sista!
