It was a sunny hot day yesterday. I was driving around in the CTS Cadillac Wagon and I had the A/C blasting. I met my buddy Isoul Harris for lunch at a Irish pub called, Meehan’s. The restaurant is located in the heart of Atlanta and it was refreshing to duck into some place cool. We were greeted by the General Manager named Ernie Poole.

The first thing he asked me was, where are you from? I said, I was born and raised in Cleveland,Ohio why do you ask? He said, I’m from Cleveland as well. How he knew I was from there,I had no clue lol. He showed us around and told us how a lot of the things in the restaurant were imported from Dublin, Ireland.The place is huge with over 4,000 sq ft, lots of different rooms for small intimate parties or big lavish ones. It was filled with a lot of history and neighborhood love. He said they will be part of the Atlanta Restaurant Week too, which is going on now!

I asked what was great on the menu and he suggested the fish and chips and some other things. I always love to eat fish and chips, so thats what I got. Isoul is a very healthy eater and he got the salmon burger with no bun and side of spinach. Isoul is the Editor in Chief of 944 magazine and he has such a fab job! He has traveled to some remarkable destination spots too. I want to go to Paris,France next time he goes.

I asked Isoul about his past jobs and he said he freelanced for People Magazine, Upscale and some others. With all his networking and skills he was able to go in and interview for the position at 944 Atlanta and landed the job. He has interviewed so many great celebs and he talks highly of Janet Jackson and Beyonce.

Our food came shortly afterwards and I enjoyed my house salad, fish n chips and bread pudding. The crowd was starting to form and the beer started flowing fast lol. If you want to try a great irish pub in downtown Atlanta, you have to try Meehan’s,it’s a nice place to eat! Thanks to Tara over at 360 Media for the invite!

If you want great food, a live band, wood smoked food,drinks and more you have to visit Two Urban Licks. My friend Aimee(The Coupon Diva) and I went to try it yesterday and let’s just say, I thought it was yummy! We got there around 5:30ish and the line was already forming with people waiting to get in. That’s a good sign!

We were seated promptly and we were greeted with 2 friendly waiters named Daneen and Billy. We felt so special and the atmosphere was cheerful. I then met the Executive Chef named Cameron Thompson he was a lil shy but cute. I asked Daneen what was good on the menu and she suggested I try the Bronzed Scallops(one of her favs) and she also suggested the Jerk Chicken. Aimee and I both agreed and placed our orders. I walked around to check out the patio area, bar and lounge area. This place was huge!

My salad came out and it was delish! It was a Heirloom tomato and baby lettuce salad. It had chile vinaigrette, goat cheese and pickled nectarines, pinktastic!

A live band was setting up and I could tell by it being Friday, the party was about to get started!  Our food came out shortly afterwards and it looked so tasty! I got the Bronzed scallops with gouda grits,pico de gallo and smoked tomato broth. Aimee got the Jerk Chicken that was smoked, with ny cheddar mac n cheese yum! We both tried each others food, and we liked it a lot. We later got the Ice Cream Taco that was cocunut ice cream, with pineapple pico de gallo. I got the Nutello Chocolate Bread Pudding with white russian ice cream.

After eating, when it was all said and done, I looked to my right and saw that we had pillows in our booth. Yes I took a quick nap because I was stuffed and It was lights out lol. Thanks to Concentrics and Two Urban Licks for inviting me out, everything was wonderful!

It’s hot as a booga bear outside and I came across some of these cold treats. I’m a sucker for sweets anyway and these look so yummy and tasty! Cant you taste them through the computer? Yes I know, I’m getting ready to go get us some ice cream sandwiches in a few! Let’s enjoy them all! lol

I was feeling so hungry the other day and thought to stop into this swanky hip restaurant and bar called, Tap. I always drive by there and see it so packed at night time. Tap has been open for 3 years located in Midtown, Atlanta. This is a cool looking place with barrels and barrels of wine and beer all through out the place. The vibrant red decor really grabs your attention when you walk in. My girlfriend Mary Johnston stopped by for lunch with me, so that we could catch up with each others busy lives. She owns a pinup style photography studio and she is a hairstylist.

I was greeted buy the manager B.Randy and she told me that Tap was an innovative comfort food place, with a flip. Their top selling food items are the grilled cheese, Fried chicken liver and boiled peanuts. Their beer and wine is shipped in barrells from vineyards. They have lots of bottled beers and are very green for the environment. My 4 cheese, grilled cheese was delish and Mary loved her cobb salad. If you’re around town, stop into this friendly neighborhood place, you will love it. It’s like walking into Cheers minus Norm lol. Thanks to Hannah from Concentrics for allowing me to come out!

Today my hubby was too excited to hang out with me at another great eating spot. I was invited out to try Cafe at Pharr. This fun little place is located in the Buckhead,Ga area. We walked in and it was so crowded. When you go to eating places and it’s crowded, that is always a good sign lol.

We were greeted by a wonderful lady and she had our food already prepared. She brought out a sampler plate with salads and chips. My hubby and I dug in right away and we both took a bite and looked at each other. On his plate he had two sandwiches which was a tuna sandwich and chicken walnut salad sandwich. I had scoops of curry chicken salad, celery chicken salad and chicken walnut salad. Both came with salads and ginger dressing.

I immediately grabbed my knife and looked at my hubby and told him to get back! He had his fork ready to dive in my plate! No sir….Get! Cafe at Pharr is known for their healthy style menu and their dynamite chicken salad! It was the bomb diggity! My hubby couldnt chat with me because his mouth stayed full the whole time. I guess that meant he liked it!  I told the waitress the food was the bomb but I don’t know if she knew what I was talking about lol.

I loved every bite and it got better and better. Please if your in the buckhead area,please stop in and try it, you will actually email me and tell me how much you loved it! Yummy! Mike and Shirley Liu opened their doors in 1993 and now  have 4 locations in: Buckhead, Chastain, Miami Circle, and opening soon in Brookhaven!
