Red Sky Neighborhood Grill

A friend of mine asked me to meet her for lunch today. I was too excited to go to this cute lil spot tucked away in Buford, Ga called, Red Sky Neighborhood Grill. When I walked in it kinda reminded me of a great neighborhood place that you could take your family, with a southwestern feel.

Lunch Crowd

I was greeted by a tall handsome young fella by the name of Jason Languasco. He was part owner of this cool place! I asked him what was the most popular item on his menu and he told me that the Cathy’s Chicken Salad was a big hit.So I ordered that! It was simply delicious! In the chicken salad it had grapes and toasted pecans on wheat bread, yum! It came with veggie chips too because I told him I was trying to diet lol, priced at 6.99

My friend had the Sante Fe’ Wrap and she said that was tasty. This sandwich consisted of chicken, wrapped in a sun dried tomato wrap with bell peppers, onions and cheddar cheese and their secret ranchero sauce. She was in heaven lol, that came with chips as well, priced at 6.79

Jason then told us we had to try just a lil bit of his Lynn’s Roasted Pimento Cheese sandwich with strawberry jelly.OMG I had one bite and fell in love! I told him I cant Im really trying to eat good but it was very yummy!

Their dream was to own their own restaurant that focused on customer service and awesome food! They also chuckled and said, “find somebody good in the kitchen or you will be stuck in the kitchen”.

Co Owner Bryan Languasco

Jason said he is the idea man and Bryan makes it happen, they compliment each other well. I loved meeting them and will be back! Bakeshop ATL!

Yesterday I went to check out a new bakery/cafe located in Midtown Atlanta. Bakeshop is the coolest looking bakery/cafe I’ve seen in a long time. I didn’t know it was a bakery till the owner Jonathan St. Hilaire told me. I thought I was in a high end sandwich shopv lol. When you walk in all you smell is the aroma of baked goods! I loved the decorations and how it was set up.You sit at family style tables with other customers. Most people would be uncomfortable dining with total strangers but I really like how that makes you meet and mingle with others.

It’s winter break for my kids, so they had to tag along with me lol. They heard food and scurried to get dressed lol. Usually I bring my partner in crime Mr.Reed but he told me to go ahead and take the kiddos! My kids are use to eating fast food occasionally or home made southern style food that my hubby or I prepare. When they got to the Bakeshop it was a reality check for them. Everything was freshly prepared and very healthy tasting foods. They thought it was going to be a pizza joint or whatever else they’re lil brains were thinking. They saw all the fresh ingredients and chefs preparing meals and had  no clue what to expect. I explained to them, that this was the way we should really eat. They still wasn’t buying what I was trying to say  lol.

I ordered the turkey club, tuna and grilled cheese for us. Once the kids got their food they loved it. My son was trying to get seconds while my daughter tried to save her tuna sandwich for later because she was stuffed. She really loved her sandwich. I also ordered the chili soup which was very good. We also got a chance to try their pastries which were to die for…yum! Jonathan told me he went to culinary school in NYC,worked for several restaurants up there, then moved to Atlanta. He said his life long dream was to have a restaurant.

He is in a partnership now and he loves it! He was so fun to talk to and thought my kids were funny. He told me he just had twin daughters, I said, “Oh wow, just you wait”! While talking with him, I noticed the lunch crowd started to come in. I talked to some of the customers and they said they had heard about the new restaurant from word of mouth. Bakeshop has only been open for a couple of months. One customer said he likes their fresh baked bread, that’s really hard to find in the city.

We had a great time visiting Bakeshop, I would like to thank Jonathan for having us out and also shout outs to Hanna over at The Reynolds Group. For lunch menu, hours or more visit www.bakeshopatl.com

I remember I tasted Carrabba’s for the first time. It was at Frank Ski’s wine tasting and I fell in love with it. I have a soft spot for good Italian food. When I tasted the food I asked the owner Brett Cavalli could I come in and try the restaurant, we set it up and today I was able to go try it out with my husband. The Carrabbas that I went to is located at the perimeter mall area. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and it reminded you of a lil cafe that you would eat outside at. It was very cozy and the aroma of the food cooking was such a great smell.

Brett the owner manager, cook greeted us and told me that he would make us some speciality and popular dishes! I was too excited to try everything. He said the most popular things on the menu were the Chicken Bryan,Chicken Marsala,Filet Marsala and the Shrimp Sampi. When he brought out the Shrimp Sampi,my hubby and I immediately started arguing over who was going to eat the last shrimp!

Carrabbas has 7 locations but all the fun is at the location at Perimeter. Brett told me he has always loved the food business and that he has ran the restaurant for 3yrs. They also deliver to companies in the area. I also loved the dessert which was called Sonyodi Chocolata, too yummy!
