You guys know I am a lover of perfumes! I was excited when I got a package in the mail and it was a new fragrance by Grammy nominated singer, Jordin Sparks. I’m not too fond of perfumes by celebrities but a few of them I have liked, This is one of them. This is Sparks first ever fragrance called, “Because of You” that she thoughtfully created because of her fans.

I get a kick out of perfume bottles and I must say, I really liked the design of this one. The graphic design on the carton was inspired by Jordin’s deep love of music and it shows. It has a cute little abstract music sheet overlaying musical notes, and you know I love the pink! This would be a great gift item for my daughter who’s a tween.

The notes are:

Intro:Clementine, White Imperial Currant and Orange Blossom

Bridge: Nectarine, Sharry Baby Orchid and Coral Charm Peony

Chorus: Sheer musks,Vanilla Bean,Baltic Amber and Blonde Woods

It’s a fruity floral scent which is my all time favorite smell. Just think of an oriental flower. Orchid flowers,thats the first thing I thought of. Very sweet but not overbearing. Retails for $17.95 and available at Kmart,Walmart,Sears

So I ran out this morning to see the new collection by fashion designer Jason Wu For Target. I got to the store thinking it was going to be a mob of fashionistas grabbing all the clothes so they can put them on Ebay but to my surprise it was quite quiet! As I made my way over to the clothing racks for Jason Wu, there was still quite a few items left. I arrived to the Target at Mall of Georgia around 11am.

I grabbed one dress in pink with stripes because that was one of my favorites in his collection. When I felt the fabric it was rather thin. It had a feel of tissue paper. I had to remember though, this was Target! I also felt like most of the clothing in his collection was NOT sent to this particular Target. I’m sure the Target at Atlantic Station had way more of a selection. I then grabbed a black and white dress that I didn’t see in the lookbook and another navy blue floral print dress that looked similar to the campaign ad photo that had a top and skirt. The top part was changed and they added a yellow belt to it.

I walked pass the selection of handbags and scarves and was not that impressed with the purses. I hate purses with straps, don’t ask me why. The clutches and totes were cute but I’m not really into handbags from Target. I kept walking to the fitting room to try on the dresses I selected.

As soon as I tried on the first blue floral dress, I didn’t like it. I can wear a size 10 top but 12/14 at the bottom normally. I’m curvy and I DO understand I have a very unique shape. Some designers just DO NOT make clothes to fit curvier sized women. I didn’t find the dress flattering at all. It was big at the top but fit in my hip area. This was the only dress that was lined, I did like that. I also liked the neon yellow belt that came attached to it. The length was great! Overall, I didn’t like the style or shape on me.

The second dress I tried on was a black and white wheeled print dress. I didn’t like this one either lol. It was very matronly looking on me. Maybe if it was styled with pink belt, flower or something else it would have looked way better but I didn’t like the fit either. This was not seen in the lookbook either. This dress did not come lined and you would definitely need a slip or shaper underneath or dark undergarments to wear.I didn’t like the length of it either.

The third dress I tried on was the pink & yellow striped dress. I really wanted to love this dress because it looked really cute on the model. It was too short for me and super thin as far as the fabric. You would need the right undergarments to wear this style dress too. This dress wasn’t that bad, but I didn’t feel all the way confident in it.

If you are a young teeny bopper, or built straight up and down with NO curves what so ever, these dresses may fit you just right! For a mom of two like me, that wears a size large or 12/14 these did not fit my body type.I left the store feeling a bit disappointed because I wanted to purchase one of the dresses. I also wanted “real women” to see how these dresses fit me, so that you can get a good idea of how they look on. I wear a size 36 DD and 12/14 dress depending on the cut, fabric etc. It’s so funny how fabric choices can make or break a whole outfit. I look bigger in some dresses and smaller in others depending on material used. It’s also camera angles, fabric and how it’s styled. These three dresses did nothing for me or my curvy shape to make me feel pretty. This is my personal opinion and review. xoxo

I was sent over a few pairs of Spanx products to try and I was so happy when I received the fab gift-wrapped box! Inside was a few pairs of the Undie-tectable Spanx. It’s a high waisted mid-thigh under garment. I was attending a red carpet event yesterday and I thought I would try it out. It was a bit chilly out but I braved the elements and headed over to the affair wearing the undergarment. I felt very secure, comfortable and sexy! Everyone loved my dress which is by Pinup Girl Clothing but little did they know I was wearing the Undie-tectable underneath! Nothing like having on a pretty dress but from the back you can see imperfections and butt jiggle, no mam not cute! I love that this undergarment was also not detectable! One more thing that I love about this particular Spanx product is that around the thigh area, it didn’t roll up like most under garments do, boy do I hate that! I sat and stood up a lot taking photos and each time the shaper stayed in place, love it! If you are in need of a new shaper, please try this light and comfortable product out! I was recently sent over some Pinkerrific shoes by a company called, Luichiny. The shoes they sent me were the Aubergine Suede Lights Out Luichiny Pumps from their latest collection and I’m in love with them! I thought it would be good to test them out at a recent video shoot I did for Kontrol Magazine the other day. As soon as I put the pumps on they were quite comfy! Actually I wore them the entire shoot because they were that comfortable! I’m the first one to carry ballet flats in my bag or Ugg boots because I can’t stand for my feet to hurt! I had to wait to give my review on this heavily promoted film called, Joyful Noise till today. The movie stars, Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan. Guest appearances by Courtney Vance and Kirk Franklin. Here’s a summary of the movie below:

Movie Summary

The small town of Pacashau, Georgia, has fallen on hard times, but the people are counting on the Divinity Church Choir to lift their spirits by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition. The choir has always known how to sing in harmony, but the discord between its two leading ladies now threatens to tear them apart. Their newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill (Latifah), stubbornly wants to stick with their tried-and-true traditional style, while the fiery G.G. Sparrow (Parton) thinks tried-and-true translates to tired-and-old. Shaking things up even more is the arrival of G.G.’s rebellious grandson, Randy (Jeremy Jordan). Randy has an ear for music, but he also has an eye for Vi Rose’s beautiful and talented daughter, Olivia (Keke Palmer), and the sparks between the two teenagers are causing even more heat between G.G. and Vi Rose.

My review: I went to see Joyful Noise last Tuesday and did a press junket on Wednesday with actress KeKe Palmer and Kirk Franklin. They were too fun and great to talk to. Now as far as the film is concerned, I didn’t care for it. You can tell that they didn’t have a big budget, the cinematography was a bit grainy and I just couldn’t follow along. First off, I’m not a church goer like that and I also do NOT like gospel music. So ofcourse I felt lost in the movie but I still wanted to go see it because I wanted to like this film. They used some secular music and I was shocked at a lot of curse words. People in the theatre that was older than me frowned on that as I looked around.There also was some sexual content.They said the reason for that was because even Christians are human too. Okay.

Basically the story line was all over the place and it just lost my interest after about 30 minutes in. I thought that Dolly Parton did a good job in the movie but the casting director should have found a different actress for the role of GG Sparrow. Parton seemed to upstage everyone in her scenes and with her style of dress(hence her choir robe) it was VERY distracting. I was paying more attention to Dolly’s plastic surgery,her waistline and wigs that I couldn’t focus on anything else they were talking about lol. If you love feel good movies and musicals twisted with gospel songs then you just might like this movie. It just was not for me and a bit corny. I give the film a C-. Joyful Noise hits theaters today!
