Betsey Johnson Fashion Show in Atlanta, WTH!

Yes, I survived watching a bit of the Betsey Johnson fashion show here in Atlanta the other day. It was held at the posh W Hotel in Buckhead. In the V.I.P area there were plenty of stylish people eager to see the show, as we all noshed on bites and sipped on cocktails courtesy of Veev.

I snuck off backstage to see the models prep and get glammed. They wore mohawk updos with goldish spray painted accents. Their eye makeup was sparkly blue & black with bold red sparkled lips, loved it! The fashions that were to be worn were from Betsey’s Fall RTW Collection 2011. This was going to be a fab show, atleast I thought!

I made my way to my seat where it was standing room only. The show began and thats when all hell broke loose! They turned the lights off with just a strobe light beaming from the end of the runway. I could not see a darn thing! Local Tv Personality Suchita V and another guest host Renee, hit the stage in the dark trying to read their notes. I was thinking to myself, “ok, maybe they are going to turn up the lights so these poor ladies can see”. Nope, it NEVER happened! I had my camera in tow and I was getting nervous because you can’t shoot good pics in the dark and my flash is not the best! I was getting annoyed! The two hosts tried really hard to read the winners of the raffle, then gave up and said they would unveil them later. Then the show began and a singer did her thing,then the models hit the stage.

I could barely see any of the clothes and I was in the front row lol. Apparently the models couldn’t see either because they kept tripping down the steps as they left the runway! The crowd gasped everytime someone would trip. I can’t tell you too much more about the show because I got up and left. I am a huge Betsey fan we all know that and I was just annoyed at the production of the show. Who has a “fashion show” in the dark? How are you suppose to see the clothes? I can see if at first you dim the lights for effect, but to have the whole show in the dark was just plain ridiculous! I made my way to valet, as other people followed. We laughed at how crazy that show was and talked about how disappointed we were. It was a hot mess and I hope they read this to know that next time you do a show, please keep the lights on! Not just for us in the audience but for your poor models safety as well. Enjoy the pics from the show that I tried to get. When you know better, you do better! That is all. xoxo
